Yeah right, there can only be two states, either being overconfident or no confidence at all. The world isn't black and white, spectrum for everything. Some girls may like a loser but most would prefer a guy who can say his thoughts out loud, communicate properly and act confidently. Confidence is contagious, no one's gonna follow a loser but on the other hand no matter how hurtful your opinions are, as long as you have confidence, people follow and like you.

Can't deny that but the drive to learn from experiences whether good or bad is the key. I used to lack confidence due to bullying, abuse but i pushed myself out of comfort zone, rised against them to be better than my past self.

You do realize his timid/nervous nature is quite normal for guys his age right? It has a lot to do with his upbringing with his parents or whoever. He has to learn confidence on his own, which is expected of us as guys to do. He first has to learn have confidence in himself but not over-confidence. Over-Confidence, that'll make him arrogant and insufferably annoying to be around. He's a shut in timid introvert who just gained a social life, give him time to adjust to it.

Especially considering how strong Nagatoro comes onto him, he is a bit freaked out by her but likes being around her. Extra pushy, loud, and strong willed women freak me out sometimes like him to this day as well. I just got used to them and have no problems being around them as much anymore. It's a slow learning process for him, not a race to the finish line. Nagatoro sees that he is trying his best and helps in her own way. Why can't you as a fellow guy see that he is trying his best to learn as well? As long as he is putting forth the effort to improve at whatever it is, it'll pay off in the end. Japanese family living and school culture are often vastly different. He probably doesn't see his parents alot because extensive work hours and they weren't around enough to teach him to be a tad more masculine confident male. He has to learn to be independent and find confidence on his own.... Parents may not to educate him on this stuff because they DON'T have the time too. Maybe they often work overseas and aren't home at all too much. We shouldn't judge or assume anyone without a proper understanding of one's background. Regardless, it's must somewhat of a decent household he is in because he is a good well raised kid but something like confidence and being more masculine or whatever..
